These Oryx hunts take place on a large ranch in west Texas.  The Hawks Double Mountain Ranch, HDMR, is comprised of 25,000 acres of rugged canyons and some great Scimitar Horned Oryx habitat.  HDMR is located about 1.5 hours northwest of Abilene and 1.75 hours southwest of Lubbock.

This is a 3 day hunt that includes lodging for 2 nights and all meals during your 3 days at the ranch.  HDMR has a beautiful lodge for very comfortable accommodations, that overlooks the Brazos River.  The ranch is perfect for spot and stalk hunting of these Oryx and boasts a healthy Oryx population.  HDMR guides know these Oryx and will put you on the Oryx of your choice.   

 

Oryx can be hunted year round.  We like to run these hunts January through May.  These hunts are very popular and can be as physically demanding as you'd choose.  Oryx have exceptional eye sight and can be quite flighty.  Though it's not required, the ability to shoot at longer ranges can be useful on this hunt.  Not only are these Oryx fun to hunt and make great trophies, but they are delicious table fair!  

 

Other species may be added to this hunt for a trophy fee.  Additional nights lodging can also be added for an additional $175 per night.
